The 6-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission for the Hector and Hector Plus will no longer be available from MG Motor India.
The 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine came with a 6-speed dual-clutch transmission. This engine develops 141 horsepower and 250 pound-feet of torque. Customers could now pick between a DCT or CVT mated with a 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine after MG introduced a CVT to the options list in February of last year.
Customers wishing for an automatic Hector or Hector Plus will have to make do with the CVT gearbox instead. One may also choose between a 1.5-litre mild hybrid and a 2.0-litre diesel engine, both of which are mated with a 6-speed manual transmission.
MG withdrew the Super model of the Hector SUV not very long ago and introduced a new, more affordable Shine variant with a starting price of Rs 14.52 lakh (ex-showroom).
The MG hector range starts at Rs 13.94 lakh and it directly rivals the Tata Safari, Hyundai Alcazar and the latest entrant to the list, the Mahindra XUV700. The all-new MG Astor also joins the MG SUV lineup and it comes coupled with level two ADAS and a personal AI assistant.
